ELEGANT SCULPTURES OF ELLORA

Many forms of Shiva are mostly found as reliefs on the inner walls of Kailasa Temple.

Shiva is shown as a great warrior, supreme god, giver of boons and an exceptional dancer.

One of the most-depicted fierce forms of Shiva in Kailash temple is Andhakasuravadhamurti, which shows Shiva as the destroyer of the Asura Andhaka who had abducted Parvati. Also,  includes Tripuranataka,  Ardhanarishvara, Harihara, Gangadharamurti, Lingodbhava and Uma Maheswara sculptures.

Period : During the reign of Rashtrakuta King KRISHNA-I (756–773 CE)
